A bit about me

(01) — My story

My design journey

My design journey started at home, not in a classroom. I was 14, fresh out of secondary school, when a relative introduced me to CorelDraw on a laptop. I did not know it then, but that period set the direction for everything that followed.

That early experience is what pushed me toward computer science when I started university in 2018 at Crescent University. I wanted to understand how the visual and the technical worked together.

In my third year, I interned as a UI/UX designer at Global Accelerex Ltd. in Lagos. It was my first real taste of professional design work, and it settled something for me. By the time it ended, I knew design was not just something I enjoyed. It was what I wanted to build a career around.

I graduated in 2022 as the best student in my department and college. After that, I worked as an IT Support Analyst at IHS Towers Nigeria, supporting over 150 employees with day to day technical issues. It taught me a lot. But I kept coming back to the same thought: I wanted to design.

(02) — Back to what I love

Back to what I love

Design has always been the thing I return to. Since going back to it fully, I have grown across tools like Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Canva, and Illustrator, and picked up website design and development along the way. These days I get to do it full time, moving between apparel design, product mockups, marketing visuals, and the occasional website build. It is the kind of variety that keeps me sharp, and I am enjoying every bit of it.

My design process

Before I open any software, I ask questions. What are you building, who is it for, and what do you want people to feel when they see it? That part matters more than most people think. From there, every choice I make, from the layout to the typography to the colors, has a reason behind it. I am not decorating. I am solving a problem, and I want every element to earn its place.

Good design rarely comes out perfect on the first try, and that is fine. I refine until it feels right, not just finished. What you get at the end should feel like it was made for you, because it was.

A Few Favourites

A few books and shows I've enjoyed recently, some new, some old favorites.

Movies & Shows

Animation has my whole heart ❤️, it is most of what I watch these days. I am also a huge fan of the Marvel timeline, the X-Men movies, and the Harry Potter series.
